A journey to discover your true voice, without imitation and without strain.
Instructor: Mearaj Tabasilotfabadi (MarG)
Vocal training and singing lessons are not just about transferring a few exercises or techniques; this path, above all, requires a deep understanding of the student's voice, body, and psyche.
I, Mearaj Tabasilotfabadi, under the artistic name MarG Lotfabadi, have been professionally active for years in music, composition, arrangement, and direct vocal work. Experience working with various singers, diverse styles, and different performance situations has allowed me to see the voice not merely as a tool, but as the personal identity of each student.
As an instructor, my role is not just "saying what exercise to do"; but rather guiding the student to discover their own real voice, without blind imitation and without strain.
To build a healthy, controlled, and performable voice in the real world of music. Starting from the most basic concepts (breath, larynx) to real performance and personal sound.
Singing starts from the body, not the throat. We learn what correct breathing is and how to produce the first sounds without strain.
Stand straight | Hand on belly | Inhale through nose (belly expands) | Exhale gently through mouth.
Repeat 5 timesDeep breath | Say "Ssssss" | Sound must be steady without interruption.
3 times (10-15 sec)Inhale | Very gently and briefly say: "Ah" | Do not drag or force the sound.
3 to 5 timesInhale (nose/belly) > Hold 2 sec > Gentle exhale (mouth).
Repeat 5 times"Sssss" steady and unbroken. Stop if sound weakens.
3 times (15-20 sec)Loose lips, like a motor sound "Brrr". Smooth and continuous.
With "Ooo", move voice from low to high and back. Gentle like a siren.
Learning that every voice has a natural range (Low, Middle, High). The goal is to recognize the comfortable range.
Say "Ma" very gently. Keep it slightly low but don't force.
5 timesSay "Na". Not too low, not too high. The most comfortable part.
5 timesStart with "Na", slightly higher each time. Like walking up stairs slowly.
3 timesPick a comfortable note, repeat exactly the same note.
5 timesConcept of Legato: Sound shouldn't cut, air flows evenly, like drawing a straight line.
Stand straight, say "Ahhh" for 5-7 seconds. No shaking, no cutting.
5 timesNo pause between words, like a wave.
5 times"Ooo" from low to middle and back. Slow movement.
3 timesSay "Naaa" and hold steady for 5 seconds.
5 timesDifference between "making noise" (automatic) and "controlling voice" (conscious). This session is the foundation for expression and tone.
Soft > Stronger > Soft. Only intensity changes, not the throat.
Pause before sound, soft start without shock/glottal stop.
Fade out gently, do not cut abruptly.
Soft > Clear/Stronger > Soft.
Felt lower down (Chest)
Center of face or upper chest
Front and upper face (Head)
Tone color is "how" your voice sounds (warm, dark, bright). Like saying a word with different emotions.
Warmer, deeper, calmer. Jaw loose, imagine sound is further back.
Ex: "Awww" (5 times)Clearer, more forward, transparent. Gentle smile, feel sound at the front.
Ex: "Eeee" (5 times)Consciously maintaining Bright and Dark tones without losing pitch control, and executing short phrases with different colors.
Inhale | Say "Awww" and keep sound warm and dark | Don't let it get thin.
5 times (5 sec)Inhale | Gentle smile | Say "Eeee" | Sound forward but not shrill/screechy.
5 times (5 sec)Pick a comfortable note | 2 sec Dark + 2 sec Bright | Pitch must not change.
Repeat 5 timesSentence: "I start again" | 1st time Dark, 2nd time Bright, 3rd Mixed (Start Dark, End Bright).
3 RoundsPrecise pitch control, smoother movement between notes, and preparing voice for Runs/Melisma.
Pick a comfortable note | Say "Naaa" | Keep sound steady without wavering.
5 times (6-8 sec)Say "Na" | Slightly higher say "Na" again | Move softly between notes (like walking close steps).
5 times back & forthSay "Ya" | Second note slightly higher | Movement should be fast but soft.
5 timesSentence: "I can sing again" | Perform slowly | Focus on each word so notes don't slide.
3 timesLearning the concept of Runs/Tahrir (soft movement between notes without cutting breath) and executing it without strain.
Lips loose | "Brrr" | Move voice up and down slightly (warm up).
3 times (15 sec)Pick two close notes | Say "Na-Na" | No pause | Medium speed.
5 timesLow -> Mid -> High (like a soft arc) | With "Na-Ni-Na".
5 timesWord: "Again" | Run on "A-" part | Short and clean movement.
3 timesUnderstanding natural Vibrato vs artificial wobble and learning to control it (Control, not imitation).
Pick a comfortable note | Say "Ahhh" | Keep sound steady and soft (body ready to oscillate).
5 times (6-8 sec)Say "Ahhh" | Gradually weaken volume | Allow a gentle wobble to appear at the end.
5 timesHold note | Let voice oscillate very gently | Oscillation must be regular.
5 timesWord: "Calm" (Aram) | Say "Araaaam" | Vibrato only on the last "a" | Natural and short.
3 timesPick comfortable note | Say "Ahhh" | Voice free, no strain.
Say "Ahhh" | Start Very Soft -> Medium -> Soft again.
Sentence: "My heart is still with you" | 1st Simple, 2nd Emotional, 3rd Meaning.
Words connected, no breath cuts.
Goal: Release voice & breath control
